The game is currently slated for a 2022 release date. The Planet of Lana trailer does a great job of setting a mood for the game, with plenty of mystery to chew on. The description on the YouTube page also states that the story of the game stretches “centuries and galaxies.” Whether that means the girl leaves her planet, or somehow hangs around for a very long time is unclear. Or at the very least uncaring of your existence. The pair will also encounter giant monsters, some that even appear to be friendly. Since combat is clearly not the girl’s strong suit, she has to use stealth to move around enemies. The enemies in the game are strange, spider-like drone robots. Instead, it’s about the titular planet and the girl’s goal to return it to its once harmonious status with nature. The game’s official page is keen to point out though that this game is not about war or violence. Together, the girl and her friend will have to solve puzzles, traverse dangerous environments, and survive. The Planet of Lana trailer shows off the art style of the game which combines a hand-painted aesthetic with something you’d see in a Ghibli movie.
It’ll be the company’s first title, and it’s already standing out from the pack. Planet of Lana is being developed by Wishfully, a Swedish indie studio. The tranquil surroundings are soon disturbed by ships invading from the sky. It is unclear if the two know each other already, but regardless their connection is made very clear.

A young girl and her loyal friend embark on a rescue mission through a colorful world full of cold machines and unfamiliar creatures. Planet of Lana was my favorite game at Gamescom 2022. One of those games is the action-puzzler Planet of Lana. Several games made their debut today at Geoff Keighley’s E3 kick-off event. The creatures of Novo react differently to Lana and Mui, and figuring out how to use this to your advantage is a big part of the fun! Mui also has a mystical hypnotic ability that she can use to control animals of Novo that have the same white eyes as her. For instance you can tell her to stay or follow you, and send her up to places you can’t reach and into small places you can’t fit. Planet of Lana is set to be released in Spring 2023 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. You can think of Mui kind of like a real life dog that you’re able to give commands to. In addition to the platforming and sneaky stealth, the core of the game revolves around Lana and her little companion Mui.
